Al-Abtah

Al-Abtah (Al-Muhassab)
The valley of Al-Abtah stretches between Makkah and Mina.It was here that the Prophet stayed in camp before doing the Hajjatul Wida (The Farewell Hajj). Another name for it is Al-Muhassab.It is located between Mount al-Hajun and Batn al-Wadi to one side and the al-Salsabil mosque to the other (al-Azraqi, 2/129). Al-Azraqi (2/130) claims that the Banu Kinana formerly resided in the region of al-Abtah, which is located north of Mecca and is totally submerged during flash floods, citing Abu 'Ubayd al-Bakri (1/257).These days, Al-Abtah is just another neighbourhood in Makkah. A long road called Al-Abtah Road traverses the entirety of it. It's a major thoroughfare lined with shops and restaurants, and it's on the way that pilgrims take from Masjid Al-Haram to Mina
